Shakespeare Festival

Ryan and I went to the Shakespeare Festival last night and saw A Midsummer Night's Dream. Sorry the picture is blurry, but we took it with our phone.

4th of July

We went on a fun trip this weekend to visit family for the 4th. We took out the bucket seats in the van and made a bed for the kids. What is really amazing is that we found the campsite we were meeting Ryan's family at (it was about 3 in the morning when we arrived--totally exhausted). The kids were so cute. They all just sat on this bench by the fire, all by themselves.
We took the boat out Friday night to go do fireworks on a beach on the Indian side of the lake.

Fireworks+4 lighters+4 pyros=Lucky that the boat didn't blow up.

We quickly discovered if you threw the flowers up and timed it just right, they would ignite and spin on top of the water and make a really cool noise. It was highly entertaining. We got three at once.

The kids love the wave runner. Especially Kathleen. I didn't think I could possible take her on enough rides. She is a pretty good driver.

I didn't get any pictures of wake surfing (every year there is a new thing to try out; surfing was this year's adventure), but I did get one of tubing.

I don't know how Cody got his mad candy-finding skills, but he had candy in his hand every time we saw him. I am not even entirely sure where he got some of it from. But the best was after he was buried, he broke out and had candy in his hand. I guess you can't beat that.

We went to Lake Coeur d'Alene for a firework show on the 4th. We had a ton of fun.

And of course, when we got home, the lawn needed to be mowed. So Brandon helped.

End of Baseball

Last week we finished up little league for the kids (whew). Emily got these great pictures for me from Cody's end-of-season party. Ryan coached his team.

Kathleen had her end-of-year party too.Her baseball buddy, Kayley. They are so cute together.

We had a TON of strawberries and rhubarb in our garden. So we decided to make some pies and some homemade strawberry ice cream. It was a lot of work. But it created "Heaven in a Bowl".
We went swimming and this is what Kathleen's hair looked like afterward. I told her to go brush it and she said it looked fine like it was. So I told her I was going to put it on the blog.
Cody's last t-ball game of the season.

Cody being held by coach Dad. And yes, this is the middle of the game. Some kids need a little extra help.
Brandon's last ball game. He is so cute. He is really good at baseball. And really fast.

Our Trip to Colorado

Warning: This post is as long as the trip to Denver (13 hours)...

Here is Kathleen getting comfortable. She must have known she would be spending a lot of time in the car for the next week.
Yes, Cody did fall asleep in this position in the car.
The kids were so excited when we could see the Denver skyline that that requested a picture.
They spent most of their time (when they would watch TV at Grandma) in this position. I don't know why.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

We played a lot of catch. The kids LOVED it.

We talked Grammy into walking across this balance beam that moved. And just to be mean, I got a picture of it.
We went on a trip down memory lane (although some of the memories on this trip are quite senile). Here is one of the houses Ryan lived in as a kid.
Here is the other one:

And the school he went to for Kindergarten.
The kids fell asleep watching a movie at Grandma's.
We went to the Denver Zoo and had a blast.
Cody walked around with a map the entire time.

This sign says, "Grandmother's in Charge".

We got to go and visit my cousin Lisa and her family. It was such a nice visit. And they fed us dinner. It was so good.
Natalie tried to leave with us. It was so cute.
And more of our trip down memory lane involved a trip to Casa Bonita.

Cody got to keep part of the pinata because he was "cute".

Here is Grandma and Grandpa with all of us. They were such gracious hosts.
We spent most of our time at there house in the pool. The kids were excited because they had a diving board. Our pool is only 5 feet deep, so that was a lot of fun for them.

And the highlight of our trip...the RED SOX Game. They got smoked, but it was still fun.

Brandon got spoiled rotten at the game sitting down by Grammy.

On the way home we went through some really fun tunnels.
That gave us the opportunity to see Blue-Granny and Marsha. Super fun. We always love seeing them.
We got to stop and spend a day with Jared, Heidi, and Xander. We had a ball with them too. We went to a park and fed ducks.

The kids got to pet a catfish that someone caught. He was super nice to let us go crazy over his fish.
And then, because we are insane, we decided to go to the water park the day after we got home. We had so much fun, but we sure are tired now.
Cody was so funny. He couldn't get enough. I think he and Kathleen would have stayed all day if we let them. You know, because 5 to 6 hours wasn't enough.
