Pumpkin Patch

The kids got their school pictures back. They turned out pretty decent.
We decorated out house with the traditional spiderwebs.
What do your kids do when it is raining out. Surly I am not the only one with a child who puts on a rain jacket (over her dress), scarf, gloves, and boots and jumps on the trampoline.
The boys put spiderwebs across their top bunk bed and threw yogurt covered raisins to each other attempting to get them in their mouths. I don't know where they get it but I blame dad.
Brandon learned about apples at school.
And I know this picture is really late coming, but here are his things from the first 2 weeks of school. He was so excited about them that he taped them all to his bedroom door.
The boys are really loving each other right now, which is great. They are crazy at breakfast time though and a lot of cereal gets spilled. But they have fun.
A pumpkin update:
Cody and I got to go with a preschool class from church to the pumpkin patch. It was a lot of fun. However, when you grow pumpkins in your yard, the pumpkin patch loses a lot of its excitement. But Cody still had a lot of fun.
I told you this one was going on the blog.

Cody LOVED the hay bail maze.
So what do you do when you have 20 pumpkins at home? You find something unique.
Some of the other kids with their "normal" pumpkins.
Brandon had Isaac over to play. He really loves Isaac. They sat at the table for an hour and a half (with Cody too) and played Lego's while quoting lines from Monsters vs. Aliens.
It has been really fun having some one-on-one time with Cody. I haven't had that with any of my other kids at this age. Here is just one of the many things that come up when it was just the two of us. Background: Cody is picking his nose.
Mom: Cody, what are you doing?
Cody: I am hungry.
Mom: Okay, so what are you doing?
Cody: I am trying to find some food in my nose.
I guess it is time to have that talk.

Utah

Kathleen learned about Earth at school. She was pretty excited about it. We decided to go visit "Blue" Granny for conference weekend, but she broke her arm. The kids were very sad. We decided to go to Utah anyway and just not all the way to see Granny. On the way, Brandon had a lot of fun playing with his stickers snacks.
Kathleen asked about a month ago to go to the restaurant where they did diving inside. So we took them to the Mayan. The food was terrible, but the experience was very fun.

Ryan was pretty excited at the moon, although this picture doesn't do it justice.
We stayed at some friend's house and felt like we were staying at a spa. They were so gracious and the kids had a lot of fun. Look how cute they all were watching TV.
We went on a tour of a chocolate factory:
You turn your back for 2 second and the boys go shopping. Yes, they had to put everything back. But we did let them get some in the end.

We had so much fun with Jared, Heidi, and Xander. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of it. But it was Xander's birthday. He was so cute. We did get this one picture of them frosting sugar cookies.
When we got home, the kids were super excited to put up Halloween decorations. Brandon helped me with the lights and kept calling it his "evil experiment" and saying he was an "evil scientist."
And of course, the pumpkin is getting even more orange.

School and Soccer

We got a TON of pumpkins this year since we got two separate batches. We decided it was time to pick the rest even though a couple were still green. We put this one inside to have an experiment and see how long it took to get orange. Brandon and Ryan wore matching outfits.
My sweet piano player. She is really getting very good.
Cody was coloring and singing really loudly. Of course when I went to get a video, he stopped. So we had to settle for a picture.
It dropped 30 degrees this week and Brandon had soccer practice in the cold. He came in with pink cheeks and sweaty hair (from wearing a snow hat). He looked so cute.
I know this picture may not seem significant. But it is. Today is the first time in his life that Cody's hair hasn't been totally poking up all over. I don't know what happened. I guess he is just growing up.
Now the pumpkin has a little orange in it.
I found this picture on my cell phone from kindergarten registration for Brandon. It was Brandon and Cody's first time on a school bus. They were in heaven as we drove around the block. Brandon got this school assignment back this week. He did so great. It takes him forever, but he sure does have nice handwriting.

The kids really wanted to make a Bingo chart for when they watch conference. They picked out the pictures and where to put them. I thought it turned out pretty cute.
Kathleen got her first 10/10 on a spelling test last week. We were so proud that when she got home, she and I jumped up and down and screamed with excitement. Now I think she expects me to do that every week. So this week when she came home with 9/10, we still jumped up and down.
My cute family: These kids really do love their daddy.

More soccer pics:

Yes, this is a very flattering picture of me in my pajamas. Ryan and I made some banana bread.

The kids had their primary program at church and got little medals for a good job. They loved them so much that they wore them to school the next day and only took them off at night when their mean mom made them.

Kathleen has started taking better care of her things. So while she was at school, mom and Cody fixed up her doll house really nice and added a bunch of fun things to it that had once been taken away. She loved it and played in her room with it for a very long time.

Cody had his friends Autumn and Daniel over to play the other day. They jumped on the trampoline while pretending to be superheros. The best was that Autumn was "Ordinary Girl!"
